In addition to our work at the human-wildlife interface, where we employ a transdisciplinary approach to innovative conservation, we focus on primary conservation initiatives involving endangered and threatened species. Sadly, wildlife populations across Africa are threatened due to a number of anthropogenic stressors, including habitat loss, land-use change, and poaching. When populations drop below a viable threshold, they become even more susceptible to disease outbreaks or natural disasters that could push them to extinction.
Silent Heroes supports orphaned wildlife care, endangered species conservation, and research on innovative ways to ensure the future of threatened and endangered species.
